End of stage one.

8 Mar

One of the most dreaded times for any final year college student has to be the last few weeks of college. Now, I’m not really one of those annoying people who constantly update their facebook statuses about how much they’ll miss college, their friends and all those “awesome” college days which “were da best”. Not that i didn’t have fun during my college days. They had their moments. But i definitely won’t miss them. Nor will i really miss anyone from college and certainly not my college!

What I find really scary about this last one month I’ll be spending as an under graduate student is that this will be my last month as an under graduate college student. BMM is a pretty laidback course with just 2-3 hours of lectures per day and the only time we’re as stressed out as say an Engineering student is when our projects’ deadlines seem to be looming around the corner. Thankfully, our deadlines were postponed by a week which means I’ll mostly end up putting off all that work that has been piling on for the past one month. A night or two before the submission date most  of us end up getting so paranoid that we’d give up  food, text messages and our precious sleep to avoid the wrath of the professor.

That is probably what I’ll miss about my school and college days. The fact that from a month now I won’t have any classmates, irate professors/teachers and deadlines pushing me to work harder. That structure that every student has depended on for all these years to grow as an individual will disappear once we’re out of college. Thus, officially becoming “adults”.

I’ve been trying to organize my life by making to-do lists and prioritizing what needs to be done first and dealt with. So  with each task that i manage to complete i put a small tick mark by that task on my to do list with great satisfaction. Hopefully,by the end of this month every one of those small and big tasks that i’ve listed on to my big and scary to do lists will have those tiny tick marks by its side.
